Unusual trilux mount.

Has anyone seen a Trilux mount like this one before?

Its very home made. It came with a sight that I bought, previous owner got it in the 80's with no history and it has been in a box ever since. It also had some normal scope mounts for the dust cover so could be used for other optics. When used for the trilux it cantilevers off the end of the rail.

A ex uk army armourer friend of my fathers has told me that the only one similar he has seen was in Northern Ireland from a recovered (stolen?) L1A1 in the 1970s or 80s.

Any ideas?
