Works for me, it is cheaper this way as well, no trial, lawyers or $22,000/year prison time.

Nice job.

We just had a shooting about 2 miles from me, early reports say 3 thugs figured the Soldier was at work and kicked in his back door at 3 PM. Said Soldier was home and grabbed his AR at the first kick........I DRT, 1 in hospital critical not expected to last long and 1 MIA.......

WTF?? WHy izzit [always] "alleged" robbers? Gun, masks and a severe beatdown don;t make a "robbery"?
I s'pose it's due to the fact that the "alleged" investigation" is ongoing and until lthe Coroner, Sheriff and DA craft a ruling and find the "guilty" storeowner beyond prosecution that it will be classed as a *real* robbery with battery!

Too bad he took a beating before accessing a weapon. He should have been slinging lead as soon as armed men wearing bandanas entered the store.

Glad it ended well for him though...

Seems a few years back a dead POS's family sued a media company in civil court for slandering their dead kin. Said the media published the fact that the dead man was a robber and that he robbed a store where he had been killed. The jury found for the family and awarded a bunch o'money to them. Said the poor dead fellow was slandered because he had never been convicted of robbing the store and thus he must be innocent until proven guilty. So now media stated the "alleged" person "allegedly" committed the crime.

There should be an automatic procedure to reward a store owner/employee who successfully thwarts an attempted burglary. Some kind of pat on the back and recognition, and maybe a financial compensation in light of the savings to the taxpayers who don't have to incarcerate the felons.

Regards,
Slo cat

PS: Not my original idea. Got it from a Robert A. Heinlein novel.

PPS: If there were ever a foundation extablished to do the above, I would contribute.

GREAT IDEA... One year of what it would cost to keep the dirt bag in prison would be a good deal for the state!!!
