If Romney gets the nomination, Rubio will likely be his Sarah Palin.
He needs a "perceived" conservative to try and get the conservative and independents to vote for him.
It could work every bit as well for him as it did for McCain, meaning that he wouldn't lose by as much as if he chose a like minded liberal for a running mate.
Rubio may be able to help with the hispanic vote because of his ethnicity and his own brand of the Dream act but amnesty is a hot button issue for conservatives so I think he'd be even less effective than Sarah was for McCrazy.

If Marco is half way serious about the retoric he delivers, he will have us at war with the few remaining countries we are not yet bombing. Marco on the ticket will be glorious days for the military industry.

A few observations:

"IF Romney gets the nomination. . . "? Are there any doubts?

"He needs a "perceived" conservative . . . ." If Romney still needs a running mate to cinch conservative support he has lost the election.

"It could work every bit as well for him as it did for McCain, meaning . . . I think he'd be even less effective than Sarah was for McCrazy." You think Sarah HELPED McCain? With who, people that weren't going to vote for Obama but were uncertain whether to vote for McCain? She hurt McCain overall and while running mates seldom gain many votes they can lose them. He should help in FL, a key swing state. His pull is with Cuban-Americans more than the overall Hispanic-American community.

You are a master of the obvious.

Being that you're liberal I can see why you think that.
If it weren't for Sarah McCain would have lost by even a greater margin than he did.
The McCain candidacy pushed the conservatives right out of the Republican party.
Palin brought some of them back.

Cuban-Americans are hispanic but the reason he'll pull in the rest is his "Amnesty" scheme.
