Ak frontsight post issue.
I pulled the front sight post on my amd 65 to straighten one of the ears and cant get it back in. It's split on the bottom and looks to be slightly flared for tension I assume. Anybody know a trick to get it back in? Thanks

Is it possible to start it from the bottom and raise it?

The front sight post is not threaded all the way and cannot be threaded from the bottom. You could just file the flared out portion away at the bottom of the front sight post, but go slowly and check often. Or, run a tap over the threaded portion of the front sight post, which is what I would do so that there would be no loss of length to the front sight post. Good luck.

Use a pair of needle nose pliers & squeeze the ends together until you can get the threads to start.

Yeah, it could be spread a little too far for easy install. After all, we are not at war in the mountains or Kyber Pass using these things, it could be slightly adjusted so that it goes in easier.
