Argentine FAL ?

A friend of mine has a has FAL with a Argentine made receiver - import marks are inside the mag well and very small. Says hes had the rifle 15-20 years. Were complete semiauto Argentine rifles imported? the rest of the parts lack much markings. He is looking to sell it and trying to come up with a value

The receiver is a S.A.C. Latta, SC. imported in the early 90s. The rifle was built on a parts kit and not imported as a complete Argentine FMAP.
Complete Argentine FALs were imported up to 1989.

tokarevsvt,

Tell your friend to check this thread. ...he may find the lower, bolt and carrier that matches that barreled FMAP Upper....

tokarevsvt, a S.A.C. receiver is valued at $700-$800 so you may want to consider that in the purchase price.

Tok, there were a great many complete, factory built FMAPs imported by SAC Latta, but due to changing legislation at the time, were broken up into the uppers and lowers/bolts/carriers and marketed through different sellers. They are all "post ban" rifles. Be that as it may, they are excellent rifles
