Blued British SLR's Question

I have a lower (UB61) that is still in a blued finish, albeit a bit worn, not parked and painted.

Silly question, I think the original upper receiver would have also been blued as well?

Anyways if so, I'm cogitating on doing a blued build. Not sure I really would go through with that as the suncorite finish would be less maint. Most of my other parts have been suncorited so I am not sure I'd want to clean them all and go through the buffing and bluing process. Just thinking it through at this point.

Pretty sure the Brits NEVER blued L1A1's.

Brits were only ever painted Black.. Stoving would be the correct term. Let's see a pic of what you have.

I just tried some pictures in the incandescent light and they didn't turn out enough to show bubkis.

Anyways I'm pretty durn sure the lower is blued as well as the take down lever. The other parts are typical black paint like finish with the tell tale chips on the wear edges. The lower has wear just like you would expect, bluing thinned out and gone in spots but smooth, faded in so to speak, not chipped.

I have other 3 other lowers that are clearly painted and an aussie that is clearly parked. This one I would definitely say is blued.

I'll try some better pics in real sunlight tomorrow.
