Triggers : Change (Episode 1)

It's on the Military Channel right now.
Not bad in some respects.
Lots of shooting of different weapons anyway.
Nominally the show was about the 1911.
There were some bits and parts about the 1911s.

But :

The "history" lesson on the development of handguns is not so good.
From the Wheelock DIRECTLY to the flintlock and then on to the revolver ?
Lots of omissions there.

The Colt 1873 Peacemaker seems to have come next ?
No mention of Rollin White, Smith and Wesson, etc.

And, then on to the .38 Colts used in the Phillipines with a somewhat PC "recreation" of some US soldier about to get chopped by Moros to demonstrate why the Colt 1911 was developed.

The re-issue of .45 Peacemakers to replace those .38 Colts is not mentioned.
Nor is the fact that the .38 used is NOT the modern .38 Special cartridge.

Also, a .45 seems to be a .45 ? I didn't realize the .45 Colt and .45 ACP were the same. A mention of the .45 ACP is made at one point but there is no indication that it isn't essentially the same as the earlier cartridge that I saw.

Lots of shooting demos to demonstrate the abilities of the TV "host" Will Willis and friends and occasional "re-creations".
Their relevance seems to me to be often irrelevant ?

Rant off. At least until the NEXT episode comes on.
