Parts kit legality in California

Would a 5.45 AK Krinkov kit be legal to ship to CA? What about a stripped receiver (shipped to an FFL ofcourse)?

pretty sure you'd be legal:
but to be safe, contact this fellow in
the Sacramento area. Probably one
of the most knowledgable about current
CA laws, etc. & most helpful FFL i've met.

He is standup guy, in last year he has helped
with purchases of Coonan FAL and Nodak AK receivers.

Nothing illegal in the kit unless it includes an intact magazine with more than 10 round capacity. The receiver is almost certainly legal but there are a small number of them (compared to currently generally available bare receivers) that are listed by name as being prohibited.

Really? ATF now enforces California law? If I were a Cali FFL I'd be a lot more worried about the CA DOJ.

Thanks. This is a NODAK receiver so it's not named as prohibited as far as I can tell. I'll withold the magazine if it sells to a CA buyer.

The magazine can be shipped disassembled. Remove the full auto trigger components from the kit though, if you send it to CA.

Attempting to be helpful to 187.

who btw is an excellent gunsmith.

i live in n. california; and traveled to at least 5 different
locations in/around the area; i've had several instances
of ffl's dealers flat out turn me down; and mentioned
the alphabet agencies by name as well as DOJ.

There is no need for sniping; because you think you know
better.

I was fortunate to happen upon Golden Tactical and was
just passing on the info.

I concur with Golden State Tactical. I've gone through Robby several times - proud to be his first L1A1 receiver transaction. He's incredibly knowledgeable and flexible. If it can be done legally, he'll know how to do it.

I've also had numerous experiences where FFLs don't want anything to do with 'off list lowers'. Not 'sporting' or something like that...

Now that's an awesome quote - mind if I steal that?
