Herman Cain

Herman Cain won the Florida Straw Poll! Didn't see that coming. They must have liked his performance in the last debate.

Does Herman Cain's radio show reach Florida?

What a joke.

All of a sudden we gotta run our "boy" against the democrat's "boy".

Why can't I get a white, hetero christian with a legit birth certificate? It seems all the choices are minorities, women, or other non traditional candidates. Wonder why that might be?

Cain and Rubio would get my vote in a heartbeat. I'd vote for Perry but with half ass enthusiasm. Romney would make me vote for Ron Paul or the Libertarian party candidate. The media seems to love Romney with Perry a close second. It looks to me like one of them is going to get the nod, unless Cain comes out swinging and gets his message out there. It just seems the media doesn't accept that a black conservative coming out against the phoney messiah.

Meh...I'm not crazy about his "9-9-9"scheme of taxation. A 9% national sales tax? Oh,yeah...the democrats will keep it at that rate the next time they cycle thru a congressional majority...
We need DEEP cuts in federal spending...think Katana deep cuts....
Nobody seems to be playing that tune, except Ron Paul.

Are you blind, or just stupid? You are welcome to vote for any of the seven candidate shown that meet your stringent criteria. Oh, that's right - you don't vote.

The 999 plan is a transitional program until the country is ready for the fair, or flat, I don't remember which, tax.

Cain doesn't back down from the questions, he has a business man's approach to solving problems, break it down, get good advice, make a decision , and move on. He's obviously honest, but most importantly, he has a sense of humor. I'd love to vote for him.

I think the "boy" comment was in very poor taste. I've watched several of the Republican debates and don't really see Herman Cain as being a black guy. I see him as more being intelligent, well-spoken, logical, and genuine. I honestly think he would make an excellent vice president. He might make a fine a POTUS but with his solid business background I question his ability to solidly handle the political aspect of being president. I have no doubt be could manage, but I don't think he'd have an easy time with it.

On the flip-side, I think he'd make a damned sight better president than what we have now.

I'd like nothing better than as debate between Cain and Obama. If the dems don't like him we can call them "racist".

I really like Cain on all the popular issues. BUT, he is very soft on the 2A issue and THAT is a big issue for me.

I don't think I'll vote for him in the primarie, but if he does get the GOP nomination I WILL vote for him in the general election.

No, I don't vote. But I still prefer to be represented by someone traditional instead of all these minority candidates 'cept it appears I don't really have the option now do I? Or will a homosexual malaysian ex patriate transvestite work for you as a rep, so long as they are keen on "issues"?

Bachman is a woman, Cain is a minority, Perry sleeps with chinese, Romney is a mormon, Gingrich's name is "newt", Ron Paul has two first names, and I don't know the rest of that police lineup from Adam which means they stand no chance to begin with; paper candidates.

Quote:
Who you callin' "boy?"
It wasn't meant to be insulting, only noting how it seems the republican party has to have their token black fella to run against the token black democrat (Obama). It's like two plantation owners pitting their slaves in a cotton picking contest for the white folks enjoyment.

Quote:
Von - race has ZERO relevance in picking the best person for the job - WTF?
Agreed, except throughout history a minority has never lead a superpower nation that I know of. A minority, by definition, does not represent the majority and so makes a poor candidate.

Quote:

So if you are black and running for office, you aren't supposed to be seen as a "black guy"? How should I see him "correctly" then?

I'm not doubting his skills as a leader, I just think it's kind of odd that now we are pitting negroes from both sides against each other. A rather disgusting gimmick in my opinion.

what we really need is a well groomed, cosmetically acceptable, well spoken, minority liar.

Oh yeah, forgot, that's what we've got.

Maybe if he had an R by his name.

I'm hoping this is just a poor choice of words here. But, it sounds like you're saying that a black guy can't be intelligent, well-spoken, logical, and genuine. From everything I've heard read and seen from Cain he is all of the above. The positions he's held in business are very political in nature, and are good training for the position of POTUS. Of all of the Republican candidates, he and Ron Paul are the only ones who I'd consider voting for.

Americans pay enough taxes and fees allready. 999 isn't needed to solve a spending problem. More taxes will kill the economy. We need a president who will go after government corruption, is Cain the one?

I think the allure of Cain to most of the plebes is that he is a "businessman" and that's who we need to "fix" our economy.

But what the plebes don't realize is the proper role of gov't is to stay completely out of the marketplace and our wallets.

Cain would be just as tyrannical as our past leaders have been in this way.

Do some research, 999 won't raise your taxes, and when the fair tax kicks in, they should go down again. My gut tells me Cain is honest, he's been around quite a bit, most honest guys hate corruption, I don't think he would stand for it.

For more on 999 go to Cain's site.
For more on the Fair Tax go to Neal Boortz site.

Please forgive me.

For the last 30 years whomever has won the Florida Straw poll has been the nominee.

The Republican party will yet again split into another faction with this nomination and O'Bama will win yet again. It used to be the Democrats that were always split and divided? What the heck is going on?

i don't give herman cain much chance at winning the nomination. i have heard him speak on the neal boortz radio show a couple of times and he is a straight ahead common sense kind of guy and a supporter of the fair tax. i would place him along with paul ryan as a person who "should" be running the country.

Where did you come up with that?

When I said RP couldn't be elected, you said I had been programmed by the MSM, now you mention decades of misinformation, and government programming. It all sounds like a conspiracy thing, I just figured government plot might fit in somehow.

Those two could get some things done.

Exactly. We would be reading about how great things on this forum everyday with only that one little change.

No plot there.
Just business as usual.
My psych prof told me a long time ago that the most lucrative jobs in the field are working for the gov or individual politicians.
Some people are more susceptible than others.

From Herman Cain's site:

Phase 1 - Enhanced Plan
•Current circumstances call for bolder action.
•The Phase 1 Enhanced Plan incorporates the features of Phase One and gets us a step closer to Phase two.
•I call on the Super Committee to pass the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan along with their spending cut package.
•The Phase 1 Enhanced Plan unites Flat Tax supporters with Fair tax supporters.
•Achieves the broadest possible tax base along with the lowest possible rate of 9%.
•It ends the Payroll Tax completely – a permanent holiday!
•Zero capital gains tax
•Ends the Death Tax.
•Eliminates double taxation of dividends
•Business Flat Tax – 9%
◦Gross income less all investments, all purchases from other businesses and all dividends paid to shareholders.
◦Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for payroll employed in the zone.
•Individual Flat Tax – 9%.
◦Gross income less charitable deductions.
◦Empowerment Zones will offer additional deductions for those living and/or working in the zone.
•National Sales Tax – 9%.
◦This gets the Fair Tax off the sidelines and into the game.

Phase 2 – The Fair Tax
•Amidst a backdrop of the economic boom created by the Phase 1 Enhanced Plan, I will begin the process of educating the American people on the benefits of continuing the next step to the Fair Tax.
•The Fair Tax would ultimately replace individual and corporate income taxes.
•It would make it possible to end the IRS as we know it.
•The Fair Tax makes our exported goods and services the most competitively internationally than any other tax system.

I think I might send some $ his way soon.
