“We believe Sasol’s proprietary GTL technology can help unlock the potential of Louisiana’s clean and abundant natural- gas resources,” Sasol said. The feasibility study will take about 18 months to complete, it said.

I will be shocked if it is allowed.........

Or do it in some other country.

The US is VERY anti-industry, which is a huge reason why our economy has completely failed.

Coal gasification is going to happen just not with our present enviormental restrictions, going back into caves and hiding won't work.

That's what I mean. They'll just do it in Mexico and maybe import LNG from Louisiana. Somebody built a power plant in Mexico to get around all that California stuff and there's probably more than one like that.

It's getting hard just to work a job if you have one. The hoops they are making people jump through are becoming absurd.

I think some of the economy has gone underground, but you can't have any heavy industry like that.

Chevron/Mobil are well along building such a plant in Nigeria,, C/M hope to optimize the process to a more cost effective/profitable procedure,,, another job sent overseas by our ever so smart environmentalist's.
The smell from the plant will improve the prevailing odor of Nigeria,, but environmentalists hate the smell of money,,, makes'm regurgitate regulations.

These new plants will require energy to process their products, we are not building new energy generating plants to keep up with increasing consumption or expansion, they will divert existing energy from the grid, probably at some guaranteed fixed price for some period of time,,, the Germans are building here to take advantage of cheap energy and labor as compared to in their own country,,, a analogy would be GE building a plant in China or Mexico.
Again government long term planning which is to say no planning at all.
In my area there is substantial organized resistance to power transmission lines to deliver power where it will help the larger metropolitan commercial areas expand,,, I think someone is looking for a payday at the cost of job creation..
