israeli fal build help needed.
i am in the process of building a short barrel israeli fal and a regular length barrel one.
i am not having much luck finding a israeli barrel, but i do have a couple of extra imbel barrels and i got one of the australian kit with the cut up barrel a year or so ago and i already had a good inch barrel to use, so i used it on the build. so i have a gas block left over. my question is will the australian gas block fit on the imbel barrel? i want the open ears look. i have a short barrel i am going to use on the short one, i had moses cut it down for me several years ago when the barrels were plentiful and cheap, so i am going to use it. thanks ron Last edited by capt ron; July 28, 2011 at 15:51. |

Inch gas block will fit on metric but gas port on inch block is at an angle.
Gas port on metric barrel is not at an angle. Once you line up the ports you may have to egg out the hole, using the inch block as a guide, to get enough gas. |

I can offer you a Argentine (metric) open ear gasblock for $57.00 shipped.
http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showt...hreadid=312042 It would be much better towards doing a Izzy clone. I can also install gasblocks too. Regards Larry

another question.
i am going to use an imbel barrel for my israeli clone build and i don't really want to cut off the threads on the end of the barrel and i don't want to use a muzzle brake. does anyone make a thread protector that just screws on to the end of the barrel. i need it to be a smooth transition on the end of the barrel. thanks ron |
