Pakistan Arrests informants
It seems Pakistan has started rounding up anyone who helped us out on the Bin Laden raid. Showing their true colors again.

Our relations with Pakistan are no longer clouded by wishful thinking.
That leaves a broader more important decision how do we keep the borders with Afghanistan sacrosanct when we do such a miserable job on our own borders. |

SAD...
If the Pakistani government is not doing this to cover their own involvement in our raid on OBL (if they ever did help us), then this is a sad development.
If the Pak government is only interested in helping the radical Islamists then our informants are in for a world of hurt before they are murdered. In that scenario the Pak government will try to learn a much as possible about our spy network in the region. This is a classic example of the need for the old policy of "need to know". If we did our homework no one person knows enough to help our enemies. Only a massive roundup followed by torture and promises to arrest, torture and kill families will gain ground for the Pak government. And that ground will be gained only if they can piece together the puzzle that is a spy network before we make changes and exfiltrate any remaining friendlies not yet discovered. Any way you look at it a bunch of friendlies and their families are toast. |

Pakistanis feel the threat from India is their most immediate danger, to that end sheltering elements of the Taliban and Al Qaeda keeps the USA as a intermediary for the India threat.
Pakis have no love or desire to emulate the USA we are simply a means to a end,,,, and the USA responds accordingly with all the two faced diplomacy at our command. Honor among thieves is the best analogy I can make. |

Ten tears of the War on Terror and so few comments,,, is that for fear of being thought foolish or because we can't be bothered?
This subject goes to the heart of the War on Terror in my mind and should be discussed by every American with a common response as the goal. Are we going to attempt to build nations or field punitive expeditions in the manner that altered the conduct of the Barbary Coast pirates. I favour the latter. |

At least that should quiet the conspiracy crackpots who thought the whole incident never happened.

FWIW: The Marines have been wacking the Taliban by the hundreds since they arrived two years ago. If you, others here and the Congress want to reduce US Forces in Ashcanistan, suggest sending the Army home and keep cycling the Marines there and that would include every MOS. Simply put, the Army and its bloated career seeking dipshits are in the way of getting the job done.

and more Paki support of terror. I have several friends in India (Mumbai) all of which have said in no uncertain terms that Obama is a flaming idiot for supporting Pakistan, all the while completely brushing off, ignoring, or in some cases, rejecting India. We give billions each year to a country that is itself a terrorist yet refuse to acknowledge India, a huge market for US goods, and a country that in general does not support terror. Oh thats right, we have to support Communist China, which hates India, and likes Pakistan, now it all makes sense.
