1st time out with DSA imbel
Short trip to try it out. A few issues to start out. Jammed after the 2nd round, got that cleared then had a stovebolt. Closed the gas port a bunch and that helped. Still had the bolt not fully close a few times after a shot. I think alot had to do with it being fresh because it seemed to get better. Might have been the mags too. Shot 60 rounds of DAG through it before we headed out. GF and a friend put some rounds through it as well as her glock and a friends 10/22. Started getting toasty se we headed home. Next time I'll try tweaking it more. Good times :-)

They are tight when new. If we see springs, extractors or whatever is worn too much we don't use them. With the Imbels and STGs just like with a kit build sometimes a spring may or may not have to be replaced after all its a kit build. I would attribute at this point to a new receiver with tight rails, but keep us updated. I shoot a 21" DSA Imbel all the time I got one 3 months ago, I'm a huge fan of the 21" full velocity FAL. I started with a 21" in 1989 so I'm a little partial.

Were you at Rio Salado range in AZ? Looks like it to me. I shoot there all the time.

I was suprised that there was quite a few people there. And I wasnt really holding onto the mag, just resting my hand there. The GF likes her glock 26 better LOL. I figured the problems were because it isnt broken in yet

I've had my DSA STG for a couple of years now. I read somewhere ( I can't remember where) to rack the charging handle a few hundred times to loosen it up. I did it while watching TV one night. I don't know if that really made any difference but I 've had virtually no problems with my FAL. |
