Measurements??

Can anyone tell me what the measurement for the receiver should be internal and external, front to rear and all that numbers. I want to check if the problem I am having might be to do with the internal dimensions.

Thank you.
Louis

What problems are you having? Pretty much every problem that could occur probably has occured and has been figured out by someone here..

TRUST me IF these guys cannot figure out your problem......Your receiver is a BOOK END or PAPER WEIGHT!

If it's on a FAL, if it is a DPMS, CENTURY, ENTERPRISE, HESSE, COONAN,DSA,IMBEL receiver, THESE CATS will figure out your problem!!!

Well here is what the problem is. http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showt...hreadid=307416

even with the new charging handle and parts it is still the same issue.

It seems that if I take the cover off and push the bolt from the the ejection port to the charging handle side it would pull it back as long as I keep pushing it.

Now if I try to charge it the bolt start moving but then stay forward but the charging handle moves about halve way back and start to stick. That is why I think the dimensions might be off.

It did work at one time but when I was shooting about a month or so ago it was working but one round did not go in and when I tried to remove by racking it the problem started.

I do reload and shoot the same ammo in my PTR91 and have not had any problems with the ammo. That is why I am confused trying to figure if it might have been an overpressure but it did not feel like it.

It is an Enterprise receiver.

If it worked at one time and then while shooting the problem showed up I would say that it is not the receiver or dimensions, if that was the case it would not have worked from the start.

You are saying that even with the new charging handle lug that as you pull back on the charging handle that the lug does not catch on the carrier and pull the carrier back?

Does the carrier wiggle form side to side within the track?

If you break the rifle open does the charging handle slide the carrier back freely?

Can you take a few pictures of the carrier, the lug protruding into the receiver and with the charging handle lug where it contacts the carrier?

Yes even with the new charging handle it will not pull the bolt to the rear.

The bolt carrier does wiggle and I put a spacer of 1/64" in it then barely wiggles and when I put it on the opposite side as the charging handle it will slide the carrier just when the rifle is open.

At the moment I can't find my camera but I will post pictures when I find the damn thing.

I find with the spacer in when I pull the carrier back it tightens up behind the ejection port opening and trying to measure I get 1.03 at the back of the receiver and up to 1.05 closer to the barrel but it might also be me because the second reading was 1.03 to 1.04.

When pulling back the charging handle it will go halfway back before it gets tight and this is when the carrier is forward.

It is slowly getting on my nerves.

Since you changed the lug and charging handle the only other cheap option would be a new bolt carrier, sounds like the lug is riding up out of the notch, down the side of the carrier and then binding. Other than that you may have excessive wear inside your receiver rails.

I know you probably have done this, Have you removed the cover and visually looked at what is happening when you pull back the charging handle? Also do you have the same problem when the rifle is open? does the bolt carrier and bolt move freely? does the charging handle move feely without the bolt carrier and bolt?

I have done this. It appears that the bolt is slightly pushed to the right when looking from the top, the charging handle will go back and bind on the bolt carrier.
The bolt and carrier does move freely and does not bind but I have to push the bolt carrier to the left when looking from the top then I can cycle the weapon like normal as long as I keep some pressure on the carrier otherwise the charging handle will go back and bind on the carrier again.

The charging handle does move freely without the bolt carrier.

Just to make sure , it does this without the charging handle in place or using the charging handle? What receiver and bolt carrier are you using? Also try to post some pics if you can.
