Gunshow Find---At least for me anyway.
Hey guys, I know that this is not a 1911, but it definitely has the Browning roots along its history. It is a Hungarian 29M Femaru, the predacessor to the famed Femaru 37M of WWII fame. I picked it up from a buddy that wanted a quick buck so that he could purchase a Cadet model trapdoor. I think I did all right, but I need to find the correct 29 M marked mag instead of the 37M magazine that now feeds it. It functions flawlessly, too.

Cool pistol! In what caliber is it chambered?

Cool pistol. It is chambered for 9x17 or .380auto. It reminds me of a Steyr Hahn with its square profile and protruding cocking flange/rear sight.

Yeah, snowhawk jockey is right. It's .380 caliber and shoots/functions nicely. As far as the Steyr-Hahn pistol, well......here is one for comparison. It's nearly twice the size, though.
![]() ![]() I can see the similarity, but I can also see roots here, maybe, with this Husqvarna Model 1907. ![]() ![]() Leland

Here is a lousy picture of a 9mm Type 54 Chinese Tokarev that followed me home from a show last weekend.
I don't think it has been fired. Yet. Sort of 1911ish. Sort of.

I have a Hungarian pistol in .25ACP that looks very much like the OP's except much smaller of course. The "Lilliput" is a neat little pistol with a hammer and grip safety and the slide locks back on the last shot. All it needs is a thumb safety and it would be mini 1911 (sort of). The Husqvarna is a Browning all the way I believe. If I recall, these were originally made at FN as the Browning Model 1903 and then licensed to Husqvarna and were originally chambered in 9mm Browning Long.

FEG made some nice pistols, including a HiPower clone. Charles Daly imported those. I had 2 FEG double actions one in .380 the Turk Police contracts, and a .45 they were both reliable pistols.
