G1 numbers thread..

** Updated 6/14/2011 **

!! OK, we have 124 of 100,000 possible serial numbers! lol.. lets keep it going. !!

This thread is for the regular G1 model C rifles, not the early high sight/type A lower model a, a/f or b G1s.

OK, I've decided to give this a shot seeing that G1 kits are coming out again and it seems that most are mixed.. I have an older kit from Sportsmans Guide that I will start with and will be getting 2 more from Apex in the next week or two. I have a bolt and carrier at the smith right now being headspaced and will add those numbers when I get them back.

If you already have all matching numbers for the lower, bolt and carrier from one of the recent Apex or other demilled kits we know that your barrel no longer exists and you have a matching kit so there is probably no reason to record the numbers.

Some of the G1 (or model "c") kits are BGS in origin vs regular army as they had their own contracts and will have BGS eagle proofs on the parts so have a keen eye and add this info to your numbers. Below is a picture of a bolt and carrier with a BGS proof mark.

Just to keep the thread short and clean feel free to just PM me your numbers and I will update the list as they come in.

Chad

On the other hand, if you have an earlier kit with mismatched numbers lets have them.

Hershey listed barrel 41131 which matches my lower.

Here's the other numbers from my kit:
Barrel - 59555
Bolt and carrier match - 97366 - BGS eagle proofs on both

Is this one of the recent APEX kits that we know the barrel is gone? If so you already have a complete matching set so I am not sure that it matters if we record it. I am trying to get individual parts and partial or mismatched kits to try to get some parts repatriated to their original configuration.

Thanks!

Very nice, you have to like that! Not only an actual G1 barrel but now a matching G1 barrel.

Now, which barrel# are you swapping so I can update the list.

i like the idea of posting every number out there, i think it'd be neat as hell to find two consecutive numbered weapons and be able to work a deal to own both, the only way to do that would be to list all numbers....

Sorry, I thought you were starting a thread to record the SN for a personal project. But now I have checked closer, I have

Apex BGS lower, bolt, and carrier SN 49199 and flash hider SN 22329. Maybe that will help someone

ok, if this is valuable to others I guess we could do it. It would just make for a much larger list.

Thought it had something to do with a Manure Spreader, like we had on the farm.

OK def, but that's the name on the parts label, doesn't seem to translate very well.
