recoil spring tube

Are the inch and metric recoil spring tube of teh same diameter and pitch? Did L1A1 paras use 9/16-32 or did they convert fixed stock lowers like Most metrics out there?

They are different.

The Inch tube is a much heavier piece of construction and they have larger tube and thread diameters. At least, the couple I tried of mine.

I think both tubes take the same thread recoil spring nut.

Umm.... I dont think there is a "real" L1A1 Para.

The alleged Malvina/Falkland swaps would have the closest thing and thats still a metric lower. I hope they remembered to swap the rear sight.

Sorry, missed that you said Para. I was talking about regular tubes.

It's called reading & researching the sticky threads in this forum...

If you had done so, you would have found this thread: http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showt...threadid=21952

"My Worthy brother" The thread of which you speak, describes neither the right diameter or pitch of the thread which I seek. On my quest for the recoil tube thread pitch, I clearly had asked for the thread and Pitch of an Inch lower. To this I was answered "The diameter of the thread which you seek is larger than the common Metric." Now go back to the senior warden with the correct pitch and thread and ye shall enter the ground floor.
