9mmP ID
Dug up a box of 9mm ball. Box marked:
SMALL ARMS AMMUNITION 100 cartridges interarms alexandria virginia (upper and lower case letters as on the box) End of box stamped: CAL 9mm LUGER with a small orange sticker : BUCK'S GUN RACK $11.95 BOX Inside of this box are 4 25round cardboard trays. Headstamp is: 11 * * 52 The *s are 5 point stars. Black sealant at case mouth and primer. I know Interarms was simply a distributor. Any idea what the ammo is? JB

Graphic above was pretty slack. The 2 stars are at East and West on the base, 11 at the North, 52 at the South. JB

That's it Mr. ammolab. No apparent crimp on these primers.
Thanks, JB

Confirming Yugo, and if it is like the couple boxes I shot a few years ago it was +P or +P+ and dirty.

Thanks Mr. P.
Wonder if this stuff is made for sub guns. No matter. It goes back on the shelf for last ditch use. Cursory search for Buck's Gun Rack turns up a store in Daytona. Guy I got this from was from the Leesburg, VA area, lived in DC when they still had street cars . He traveled a lot, so, who knows? He gave me a scad of old guns and a pile of all different kinds of ammo. Still going through stuff.JB

That 9mm is now 58 years old??? How long you expect it to "sit on the shelf"? I would shoot it all (those that still do shoot) this weekend and buy some much fresher ammo for "last ditch"! |
