Single-Six holster for 4-5/8"
Single-Six holster for 4-5/8"
Got the gun, then discovered how hard it is to find a decent LEATHER holster for the 4-5/8" barrel - especially if you want something OTHER THAN the typical "cowboy rig." Most of the easily-available holsters are for longer barrels, or are cowboy rigs, or both. Triple K model 440 from http://www.cowboyneeds.com/440.html sixty bucks very impressed with the workmanship and fit two-way belt loop allows strong-side or crossdraw carry ![]()

That looks like a cute pop-gun buried in that holster W.E.G.
Have you shot it yet ? Several different manufacturers have made decent quality, non-"Western" holsters for 4 5/8" Single-Sixes. Some are no longer made. Bianchi. Mernickle, Lawrence, Simply Rugged and El Paso Saddlery, to name just a few. I've bought several holsters used on E-bay. Quite a variety available, but you may have to wait a while to find what you want and even longer to actually obtain one at a decent price. The holster you have looks like it will do what you want anyway. |

That there is a nice rig, well done from the look of it. Nice revolver, too if I recall the breed (Ruger .22, yes, do they still come with the mag cylinder??)
Until recently we had an old saddle-maker in Our Little Town, but alas he has gone the way of the wild goose.... I would lay out what I wanted, or even cut and fit, and he did the rest. Holsters, knife sheathes, boot work... Wish I coulda bought him out and made a living at it.

Holster
That is my favorite style of leather for my revolvers. Great find. Usually I just cut one off to fit the shorter barrel.

That's a nice looking holster!
60 bucks is a very reasonable price, too. Thanks for the lead on a leather retailer that makes nice holsters for revolvers that are not soo CowBoy. I may go ahead and order one of their more simple holsters for my GP100... |

Got 500 pieces of brass, and 500 bullets sitting over there. Been busy loading my ammo for next year's high power rifle season. Should have that done any day now. Looking forward to loading some revolver ammo later this month or January. Let me also mention, you need to expect a little wait-time if you order a holster that isn't in stock. They tell you on their web site that they will charge your card up front, because it is handled as a special order. They'll get it, but it might take a few weeks. I think it was four or five weeks for mine.
