I don't think you will find anyone who disagrees with that. It's beautiful.

Sometimes these forums make me feel as though I were missing out on life because I don't have a new rifle pic to post each day.

Enjoy it, I'm sure you earned it.

Very beautiful! As a member of the "I've got Blue Monster wood" club, I know the feeling. Ol'lady freaks out every time I say it.

Being an afficianado of garages, I must say I am envious of your concrete. I would do a burnout on mine too if I had it. My old horse barn just ain't up to the stress.

Nice photo composition. The only thing that was glaringly missing is a few spare loaded mags.

oh, and that's a pretty cool boomstick too.

I thought I remember reading back in the BGS thread that you thought you were going to move into a pup tent with a couple of forum members LC , sounds like your overhead ought to be low enough to go out and buy a few more of those kits you picked up.

Glockfan when going for a US parts count......there are NO BETTER made US parts than BLUE MONSTER made in the USA furniture!!

Thanks for all the positive comments guys. I know you can't tell from these nasty photo's but I am pretty sure this is all original park or at least very old park due to the green tint. This rifle is in MINT condition as received, I only replaced the flash hider back to the original Stoll device and added the BM wood. It is PERFECT! Should be able to run a few mags thru it this weekend while at deer camp.

NOW, I can understand your obsession for a Rhodie. You need a "beast" to balance out the STG "beauty"!

You wouldn't keep them in the same gun cabinet, would you?

FINE looking FAL there, Mang!

Cannot believe no one has figured out the blurry pics are a direct result of that partially used bottle. With that small of an amount of product missing, either you're a lightweight, or had a case of the shakes from not enough alcohol. C'mon, now, fess up!

Seriously, that is a beaut. And the setting seriously complements the weapon.

OK I will fess up! I AM A LIGHT WEIGHT! And the shakes would be from TOO MUCH and NOT the lack there of! Just smelling a shot gets me buzzed, one good drink and I am TOAST!!

First they made A types, they eventually cracked under field conditions.
Then they made B Types, they eventually cracked under field conditions
So they reinforced the B's with a collar, redesigned (made it beefier) and called it a C type, they eventually cracked under field conditions.

They all used wood PG's, they also cracked.

Then they made plastic ones that don't break.

Trapdoor cuts also promoted the demise of a lot of wood stocks as it makes the bottom corner of the stock so thin you cannot believe it. All of my original traps are crushed in it that corner.

A, B or C they are all plenty tough for the range or the safe, plus they don't get any FA wear and tear. Also the A's and B's are the earliest thus the oldest.
So far I haven't heard of one of mine cracking, but they are not carried by active, drilling, fighting soldiers.

A's only fit A type lowers.
B's and C's fit any lower including A type lowers (but don't put an B or C on an A type lower).

C Types are the toughest.

Speaking of A's back to work.

A's and B's are the leanest and prettiest IMNHO.
My stuff (where appropriate) use B types, just because aesthetically I like them best.

Oh and usually they didn't crack at the sight interface but parallel to the recoil tube. If cut right, the sight should never touch wood.

So you haven't come up with any tricks or reinforcements for your non-Cs then?

I was just wondering if there were some for the A and B stocks after 40-50 years of field knowledge with them. Personally, I like the Bs the best, so that would be my choice when I get around to it.

What is the buttplate on the type B stock pictured? I assume a metal w/ no trapdoor (for reasons you've stated).

OK that confused me?
I am not sure why I would reinforce my Type B's?
Unless someone hasn't told me, none have ever broken and if I did reinforce them they wouldn't look like B's any longer
I do two contours: "Lean" (battle used) and "as issued" (more proud), the unissued contour is a little beefier/heavier thus stronger but again it not like a single one has ever busted.

If an A broke they just replaced it with whatever they had, it as witnessed by the B and C types we are seeing on BGS A type lowers. Issued G1 wood took about as much or more abuse than most other Metric FALs. The Germans used them then the Turks. Years of storage, humidity levels high then low, hot cold, etc. not like the interior environment of a gun safe.

B's and C's are plenty tough, A's have an inherent weakness (obviously).
However (as mentioned) unless you are a soldier fielding one the likely hood of a failure is VERY low. I don't think any A I have ever cut has failed?

Butt, no idea. Non trap I suspect as it's an STG... Chris?

You could use brass pins (like Lithgow did on their coachwood SMLE stocks) to reinforce w/o looking too strange, even covering them with pre-cut and contoured plugs from the same block of wood. Of course, that would probably nearly double the price. Or maybe add some epoxy resin to an over-bored recoil tube channel and re-drill to size to bind the grain and add something that isn't laminar to absorb forces w/o splitting, which worked pretty well for me in a variation of this idea on one of those coachwood SMLE stocks.

These are just ideas, however. I'm not sure why you would fix what isn't broken, but then I was wondering if you had, since even the B is weaker than the clunky, but functional C.
