Movie Green Zone
A bit hit and miss - the plot was paper-thin with an ending that can be seen coming from miles away.
I was pretty impressed with the scenic details, though - the Al Rashid hotel, the Crossed Swords parade-ground and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the bust of Saddam with his silly-ass helmet, the swimming-pool... very accurate. |

I was impressed with the scenary also. Then I IMDBed the movie - Most of it was filmed in Spain.
Plot was thin. |

I wanted Green Zone. My wife wanted the 99¢ chick flick so HTTM was the compromise choice.

I would have liked it better if they added a few things:
163,098,302 kids yelling "Mister mister" trying to ratfuck his gear every time he exited any vehicle, anywhere Large ankle deep puddles of septic waste scattered randomly throughout the movie for him to step in The Freedom Restaurant: COME ON- how do you have a Green Zone movie without Suleiman's House of Salmonella?? (Used to live in a CHU behind his property) Donkey carts Other than that enjoyable as long as you don't expect too much.

"Green Zone" was an OK way to spend a couple of hours as long as you didn't expect too much of a message in the first place.

Good story, makes you wonder if more of that crap doesn't go on and that is why the world is such an effed up place...ending was predictable, but it gave it a feel good for all the devious machinations by the politicos and spooks.

It was a left wing wack job. The whole message of the movie was that GW Bush and the Wallstreet Journal lied to us to get us into Iraq.
Nothing more. A real piece of shit starring one of Hollywoods finest pieces of shit, Matt Damon. |

Yeah, I'm still not ready for a Matt Damon rendition (pardon the pun) of my War.
**** him, **** them. I haven't seen Hurt Locker either for that matter. I was there in the Spring and Summer of '03. I lived in the basement of the Republican Palace and we ate most of our meals across the river in a market to the south in karradah (I don't remember what zone that was). That was before Burger King when the line for Copenhagen was 3 hours long at BIAP. (It never fails - where the US Army goes, BK is soon to follow) |

I lasted about 17 minutes into Hurt Locker.
I turned it off because it was filmed in Stupid-Vision. WTF? Can't they afford a steady cam, boom or dolly? That Blare Witch Camera Shake thing being done intentionally is one thing I refuse to put up with. |
