Falcon para kit ?

Since I have two FALs with full stocks, I'd thought I would convert one to para configuration. Looking to buy a Falcon kit.

Any experiences/comments/suggestions?

The only problem with DSA is that their stock folding mechanism does not use a button latch system found on real FNs so it's not as "authentic", the FA stock does have that feature incorporated.

But other than that the DSA stock is very well made.

I've been told by Rich at www.CGWgun.com that the Falcon carrier has big problems with to much metal in some places and the hardness is lacking, I'd stick to DSA.

This can be changed by you if you want. I have seen photos of belgian folders without the button for what it is worth.

I found the quality of my Falcon Para kit to be very good. The only problem I found is the bolt carrier. There was to much metal on top. To work with my DSA scope mount I had to remove some metal from the top. If you use only the Para top cover that comes with the kit you should have no problems. Plus they normally have them in stock.

Falcon kit

"In stock"

That would be my next question - DSA seems to have problems keeping anything in stock. Why order something that will never be shipped ?

I did just order a complete "Para Kit" from DSA on the 4th of this month and received it ten days later (14th), so it would appear to me that the parts are IN STOCK as of NOW.

I got my para kit from DSA within the last month and the para bolt carrier was out of spec... I had to send it back to get another one.

Finish is very good on the stock.

This is the second time I've heard that some original folders do not have the button latch, if that's the case that makes me feel a lot better that the DSA set up is still considered "correct".

SLR5000 (Pat) posted a pic of a Belgian folder that is in Quantico's storage. It did not have the button.

Exclamation Falcon Arms para stock

i purchased a Falcon para conversion kit the lower recievr looks like a
quality made part fit and finish very good same for bolt carrier and para top cover and springs.
The para folding stock >( looks bad shows casting slag and marks and the finish
looks bad and paint flakes off if you just look too hard at it.
The locking lug on my stock broke it was on the FAL 1/2 a day! Going to send it back to falcon to see it they will replace it , did not sound good they said they would look at and determine if was forced if so their call it will not be replaced and i will be SOL!
I will let you know how i make out with falcon arms.

Then i ordered a DSA stock.
To be continued!

It can be removed by carefully driving the lower retaining pin out and removing the hinge pin. The button and its little spring just need to be removed and put in storage. You can return it to original configuration later if you want. If you are careful you will be able to do it without marring anything.
