US metric-pattern charging handle sources?
Does anyone know where a decent US made metric-pattern charging handle can be found, the sliding part for 922R? I tried ordering one from DSA but it was backordered. I checked with Mountainman, too, and it sounds like a future project for him, but I'm wanting to get this built within the month.
Maybe I'll just have to get a falcon part for the HTS, like maybe the sear or trigger. I've been trying to keep the internals original as I heard they are better quality than the Falcon stuff, but with an Argy receiver, this is getting rough. What I have in the works so far: DSA hanguards DSA pistol grip US piston Vortex flash hider US floorplate US follower (Falcon) That's 6. I have a DSA HTS on backorder, too. But that probably won't be here in the next 6 months, only ordered it a few months ago. I figure I'll let those show up when they show up and use them to build a second rifle. Same with the DSA charging handle I ordered. Would anyone have an idea if one is more important than the other to trigger pull, the sear or trigger? |

Yeah, from Tapco's website it doesn't look like they are made anymore. I'll keep an eye on the marketplace and the auction sites, though.
I wasn't aware that DSA even made US buttstocks aside from that X-stock? I really like the humpback that came with the Argy kit, anyway. |

Thanks, guys, much appreciated. I figured those aluminum versions as available might not be as good as the steel ones, but that's just a hunch. The DSA one that Midway has is tempting, though. If I can get a decent US humpback from DSA, I might go that route. I'll certainly call them next week, anyhow.
gunnut1, I actually want a Vortex flash hider, as it sounds like a good flash hider and serves as an adapter for the sound suppressor I'm planning on getting...the same suppressor will work on my AK and AR if I put a Vortex on each of them, too. Maybe whenever the DSA HTS shows up I can switch back to the Argy furniture, but I'll have to modify the hammer to fit the Argy receiver. |

To answer your question on the trigger parts, if I were going to use only one for compliance it would be the trigger. The critical engagement surfaces are on the hammer and sear.

Just wait till July and I will be started on some standard G1 type CH's with aluminum (black and shiny) , parked CM (add $15) and SS knobs (add $17). Bodies as always made out of 4140 pre hardened steel. Also, my rails are cut specifically to INCH or METRIC height. I should figure out the price by June.
