Inch or metric receiver??

I have an L1A1 that I purchased around 95' or 96' and have just recently started digging into it's history. It has the Clinton Era thumbhole stock. The receiver is stamped "L1A1 Sporter Cal .308 CAI - St Alb Vt" "Assembled by CIAL Canada" "Receiver mfg by Imbel Brazil" "112 xxx" It only accepts metric mags but the track is cut to accept the folding charge handle. I thought FAL receivers were either metric or inch, or is this just a screw-up?

Thanks in advance,
Craig

Century used an Imbel receiver that was sort of a Hybrid. Had Inch features but used metric mags. You can also swap inch and metric receivers.. Inch and metric only really refers to certain styles of cuts and the notations that were used on the engineering documents.. Metric vs Inch measurements, although they were still the same dimensions.
