That would be awesome for us FAL'rs that are behind the iron curtain of The Peoples Republic of Kalifornia and under the iron fist of the Kaliban! 20 round mags just give the FAL that extra touch of class, even though it would be blocked at 10...I would buy 10 and I know others here would as well

There will be a calling for a short version..

Come out with the 20, let every one buy them all up.. Then come out with a shorter version.

They will/should work on Inch receivers. I use metric mags in my inch receivers most of the time and although they are a little looser fitting they have worked flawlessly. And the beak on my mags will be bigger than the beak on a steel mag. There is a lot of room inside the receiver where the beak fits and we made the beak just slightly smaller than the cavity it fits in. So my mags should fit a little tighter than a regular metric mag in an Inch receiver.

The followers will be polymer, as the entire mag is except for the spring.

Have you thought about a removable notch that you could switch between inch and metric? I'm sure your design will work just fine but it might be something to think about since the mags are identical in every other way. I figure something you could slide in from the side with a little knob on the bit and recess for it on the mag to keep it in place.

Probably not worth the effort but just throwing it out there.

Moses, I asked about the followers cause I have a few mags that exhibit the problem you mentioned earlier. The "hump" that engages the BHO pin is too narrow and the follower will sometimes cause that pin to lock the mag in the rifel. Causes unseemly dancing and yanking to get it clear. Will your followers work in standard mags? I do want a few of your mags, if for no other reason, a guy I know and have shot with made 'em. But if your followers work in standard mags I'll change all of mine.

Moses,

I just saw this thread, like everyone else if they are as good as you say I would easily get 5 - 10 from the start. Keep us posted and let us know how/when to order some and get you the funds. I am really looking forward to your mags!

Thanks,

Due to the changes/improvements we made to the follower it will not work in an original mag. I tried initially to make the followers so they would work in an original magazine but it just wasn't feasible.

Like I said before these mags should work fine in an Inch gun so no need to have the removable beak.

I'm really looking forward to these too.

I know my shop will want to sell them, I've already talked to the boss-man and he's really interested in selling several as a test-bed for feedback.

We're probably going to sell the first batch without any markup (as your second batch will probably be priced-down for dealers after you recoup your expenditures), just to get the local FAL-heads hooked

That is, if I don't buy them all first upon opening the box

If the first batch sells out, another batch in flat dark earth would be nice (to help I.D. them quickly from all the "black gear"

I will most likely (depending upon demand) do some OD green and flat dark earth (and maybe some clear smoke) after the initial first run if not in the first run.

I want to post pics of the design but I am waiting until I have all the legal design trademarks/copy rights/patents taken care of first.
Don't want some scumbag co. stealing my design before I get mine on the market.

I think the mag looks BAD ASS!!!
I am sure I am bias but the few people I have shown it too seem to agree with me.

Dark earth?

This would be so sweet. So would 25 round mags.

Wow didn't realize you guys wanted the OD and flat dark earth, I'll have to see if I can get those made in the first run along with the black. Depends on the how much more it will cost me to add the color and if they will split my initial run into 3 different colors.

The 25 rd mags are gonna happen but I have to recoup the money from the 20 rd mags before I can pay for the 25 rd mold to be made.

Changing plastics would be easy enough, once you have the molds. Maybe do production runs in different colors...

On making 25 or 30 round mags, you could design a floorplate extension, like is available for 5.7 pistol mags. It would take a smaller mold block, so it might be cheaper to make, and should be just as reliable as a full length mag if you've got the right length springs. Hell, sell some 30 round springs separate if you can [if you end up making a 30 rounder] for the guys who dislike the L4 magazine springs.

The "non working " proto type is here, and everything seems to be correct.
It is made out of a material that isn't strong enough to be a working mag, at least not strong enough to fire it in an FAL.
It is just for checking dimensions, overall look and basic function.

We are now in line for our production molds to be made.

Getting closer fella's!!!!!!

If they were as good as PMags, I'd be down for as many as I could afford. I'd buy at least half a dozen (after I get my FAL, of course).

Nz PM sent.

I do not have any plans at this time to do any windows on the mags.
There is a lot more than you would think involved in that, and it would really drive the cost per mag up. Not to mention patent infringement.

If there is enough demand I will do a run of translucent mags in the future, but keep in mind that the translucent material is more susceptible to UV rays and chemicals like bore solvents and gun oils.

I got to handle a pre production sample yesterday. I can't wait for the real deal to come out. 3 gun and action shooters will love these as they provide a much better gripping surface for runnin n gunnin. I, unfortunatly, got into the FAL game long after the $2 mags and $.15/round ammo. The surplus mags I've bought over the last year or so are disappointing to say the least. I've been paying $13-$18/mag with about 1/3 having issues. Sometimes I've been able to take 2 bad mags and make 1 good one. I would gladly pay considerably more for a new US made mag that I don't have to dick with to make work.

Thanks Jason, I have had nothing but good feedback from everyone who has seen the preproduction sample, I really think these are gonna be awesome mags! And yes you gotta love the 3 US parts!!!!!
With these mags you will only need 4 US parts on your actual rifle.

Yeah, Any clue as to production date? I would assume probably not if you don't have the molds made.
