I too have been following this thread. Great work Moses. I will be purchasing some OD Green ones once they are on the market.

Not sure on the exact date.
Guessing I would think I will have the updated prototype in 2 to 3 weeks and then I'll test it (at least another week of hard testing, I have already tested the first batch and it has passed all the wear and strength tests so I just need to make sure none of the changes made effected anything) , if I approve it then the mold will have the final logo's and other info engraved in it, I am guessing at least a week on that, but it could be less. Then a week for them to shoot/make the parts. So I am thinking if all goes well 6 weeks, if all goes extremely well 4 1/2 to 5 weeks. But this is purely speculation on my part.

![]() In the past couple weeks I made a dozen and shipped 8 prototypes of this simple little part. For 30 years I have had mechanical engineers and packaging people make drawings of my electrical designs. It looks so easy, but getting the documentation to the point that someone else can make it, turns out to be a lot of work and takes a lot of time. And then there is the correspondence with customers, and the shipping. None of it is complicated, it just a big hassle, like baby sitting. What does it all mean? Documentation for mass production is not fast or easy.

Minor dimension changes, like moving the front beak location by .030, changing the mag catch location tab by .015, adding two small channels in the front mag wall to allow for longer than spec bullets to feed in the mag.
Mag would have worked without these changes but this should make it reliable in slightly out of spec receivers and/or out of spec mag catches too. The main change that had to be made was the core of the mold was undersized and had to be fixed to allow the mag to hold all 20 rounds without having to be modified by hand, this was an error that was made when the core was machined, the dimension was just incorrect, the mold company wasn't sure how they missed the dimensions but they did so they are making a new correct size core.

How are the external dimensions compared to standard FAL mags? Will they fit in standard 20-rd .308 pouches (e.g. the G3 pouches)?
Would you be willing to post a drawing with external dimensions? I'm working on making a buttstock pouch with measurements from my standard mags, and I'd like to make sure these would fit too.

![]() It's a horizontal pouch so it's more sensitive to the height of the mag and the size of the base. I'll make my pattern a quarter-inch "taller". The dimensions for the lip around the base would be most welcome, as that part won't be sticking out the top of the pouch and would have to fit without binding up.

And for us californians why not just rivet the magazine to 10 rounds or send as parts kit so we can rivet them.

http://www.hoffmang.com/firearms/DOJ...2005-11-10.pdf There are several out of state vendors that currently offer magazine parts kits for sale to California (i.e., complete disassembled magazines) along with many, many in-state vendors. Essentially, it is legal as long as the intent of the buyer is to repair or otherwise replace parts on a existing hi-cap magazine or to use the parts to manufacture a magazine with a capacity of 10 rounds or less. There are Californians with permits, though, for hi-cap mags in which case most or all of the restrictions do not apply. |

I'll be in for a few 20rnd'ers in black, plus the one in our trade.
Your wrench went out on Saturday so you should be getting it soon. Put in some extra's too. I figured you'd get good use out of them. |

I plan on doing at least 2000 the first run so should have plenty for everyone.
I will be selling them here first so Falfile members will have first shot at them.

I'm in!!
I'm in for 5 ODs to start, and a pile of the anti tilt followers whenever they get done (they are still in the works, right?). Great job on this, and thanks for all the hard work. What a contribution to the FAL community.

Can you make 10 round magazines for us living in ban states and for hunting purposes? I know that you can corner the CA market because no one is supplying the state with CA-legal 10 round magazines. DSA is out until summer.

Molders are finishing up on the revisions to the mold I had them make, then I will be testing them.
When I give final approval they will start mass production. Should be doing at least 2000 the first run, if demand seems higher I will do more. Subsequent runs should only take a few weeks if needed. I am estimating 2 months until they are for sale but I am hoping it will be sooner............ Much sooner! At this time I am concentrating on getting the 20 rd mag out, after that I will see what I can do to make Cali legal mags. And yes still planning on doing the anti tilt follower for the OEM steel and aluminum (indium) mags. Thanks for your interest!
