I'm gonna use these for 3 gun, so I'm definitely in for at least 5.

Looking forward to using a magazine that was manufactured AFTER I was born.

Any estimate on price per mag?

I need to know how much to save from my wife's marauding spending...

Yeah it is on the first post, to quote myself

"I am guessing cost would be between $20 and $25"

It looks like it's gonna be in the $24 range right now as long as there aren't any unforeseen surprises.

Hey, what kind of mag springs are you going to be using? Can we use wolff, or the equivalent as replacements?

Mag springs will be just like the original!!!
So you can use any type of metric mag spring.
But you shouldn't have to change the spring as they are brand new OEM springs.

IMHO, cosmetics are less important than the fact that this is a U.S.-made mag, and counts as three 922r compliance parts. Add to that the fact that it's being developed and marketed by a respected forum member, and that makes it even better!

Will you be making a run of smoke colored ones ever Moses? What time frame could you guess on those?

I do plan on doing a small run of clear or smoke mags, not sure of the time frame. I have to get the first run completed first!!!!!!
Will need to do some research on what material to use to as clear plastics are not as durable as the glass reinforced nylons.
Anyone know what Sig Sauer made their 550 mags out of?

Curious; What does glass-reinforced nylon look like without any dye?

figured it might look sorta neat just raw.... Raw fiberglass products using the woven mat look cool, even if they aren't transparent. But, raw long-strand looks unfinished...

I have 10 or so of the Lancers myself and like them. They look good in my Sig 556!! If you read the package they warn you not to get certain chemicals on them as it can damage/weaken the clear polymer they are made of.

Here are some pics of the molds and a pic of one of the electrodes used to burn the cavity for the mag body.

Thought you guys might find this interesting.

This is one side of the floorplate, bottom plate and follower mold.

Here is the electrode used to burn the mag body cavity.

Moses,

You might want to give Rock River a call. They might pick up your mag for use in the LAR 8 style rifles.

Personally, I don't care for the cosmetics. The alternating angle "waffle" pattern bothers me. But that is a secondary concern to function and the other factors mentioned.

BTW, I selected 5 in the poll.

The magwell in the Rock River LAR-8 is too deep and my mag will not fit unless some ribs are removed. Which could be done pretty easily if a person wanted to do that. RR is using thermolds right now that Thermold apparently made a new or modified an old mold so that there are no ribs on the upper half of the mag now. There are pics on the RRA website.

Wasp sorry you don't like the look but glad you would get 5!!!!!
The waffle type ribs angled and straight make a great gripping surface for inserting and removing the mag, you will notice this the first time you use one!!!
The ribs were not put on the mag solely for looks but for strength and added grip.

I personally really like the look but I honestly didn't expect everyone to like the cosmetics of my mag.

Function is the number 1 concern though!!!!!!!
