Unhappy Gas tube problem G1 kit

I am building my second fal kit. the first was an imbel on a DSA this one is a G1 built on a Coonan receiver. Have the barrel timed and headspacing done. When I went to install the gas tube and gas tube nut I can't slide things together enough to be able to install either end. The kit did not come with a gas tube so I purchased one online. Have looked through other posts and it most say these things are universal. Are there different length gas tubes and gas tube nuts and if so what do I need for this G1. Prior to this problem everything else went together much easier than my first build.

I believe the Izzy and the Inch are slightly longer than the standard metric. But, a pic or two would be the most helpful. Or, maybe measure the one that you have.

Just cut off enough so that it wil fit, the gas tube has no function on the reciever side other than keeping the dirt out.

and there are different length gas tube nuts. They won't make the tube fit any better.

Unless you cut off too much.

The gas tube measures 9 and 5/16". The portion of the gas tube nut that remains after threading it into the receiver is 1.75" Looks like it is about .250" too long

Are you screwing it in all the way? Can you see through the pin hole?

I can't get that far. When I slide the nut onto the end of the tube that combination assembly is too long to get it between the back of the gas block and the front of the receiver. I can install either one by itself and everything threads on fine.

What Abominog is asking is are you sure you have the gas tube screwed into the gas block all of the way. You should bottom out the gas tube when screwing into the gas block then back it out intill you can see the gas exhaust hole.

I normally put the gas nut (the thing that screw into the receiver) on, slide it all the forward and then screw in the gas tube. At this point, I install the pin to hold the gas tube in place and screw in the gas nut.

There is no way you can install the gas tube then put the nut on.

What the OP is saying is that when he slips the nut onto the tube the assembly is too long to fit between the receiver and the gas block.
Nothing screws anywhere until the tube and nut go between the reciever and the block at the same time.

jm_m Correct me if I'm wrong.

The tube should be short enough for the tube and nut slipped together to fit between the receiver and the gas block and long enough that when the tube is screwed properly into the gas block and the nut is tight in the receiver they still overlap.

What Raimond said was all the information needed.

Trim the tube until they fit.

I bought a used gas tube at the Phoenix gun show awhile back and didn't realize there were slightly different lengths that were made. I also bought a new gas tube recently which I was told was an Israeli. Both of them are the same length. I believe I read in an old post on the forum that the Israeli tubes are longer than the others. Looks like I need to cut one of them about a 1/4" shorter and save the other for something else. Thanks for all of the help.

You would help even more if you read the question.
