WTK Value of STG
Rifle was built on a Primo STG Kit from M&A with an Imbel Gear Logo receiver. Finished rifle was then carried to Walter Birdsong and Associates for a Black-T finish. It has resided in the safe since with only minimal handling and firing only to set the sights. Rifle looks and functions as new.

Just do a search for STG in the marketplace section... Here's one recent listing:

I just wondered how much if any the Black T coating added to the rifle. It actually is finished in Black and Green.

I doubt you will get a premium for whatever you refinished it with. An extremely nice compliant STG kit on Imbel would probably bring you $1200 but take you a long time to sell at that price. At $1000, you would likely sell it a lot faster. However, it's not a great time to be selling guns. I'd suggest keeping it for another year and see if prices go back up.

Actually it belongs to my FFL. I built it for him and he took it to Bird and had the black and green put on it. He is trying to raise a little money for daughter's college fund.

I will see if he can send me a pic. For those not familiar, the Black-T is a proprieatary finish by Birdsong and associates. Birdsong finishes weapons for Emerson Knives, Benchmade, S&W, Springfield Armory, as well as govermental agencies such as the Treasury Dept. and the Secret Service. Dealer cost to finish a long gun is 150.00 and all internals are coated. This finish has endured over 500 hours in a salt water spray without corrosion and is used on industrial pumps.

Very nice! I'm sure that there are some that will pay extra for the finish and some that would prefer original finish (like myself.)
Start out high and reduce it until it sells. |

Every time I get this rifle out to take pics to sell, I end up putting her back up. There is just something about these FAL's (as you all very well know). HA! But I am looking at college tuition/books and also a couple new toys as well. Something has to go.
