Anyone know a source for SCAR 17, 7.62
I have found a couple of SCAR 16's has anyone seen a SCAR 7.62 for sale yet?
I know they are filling military contracts right now just wondering if any have made it out yet. Does anyone know what mag the 7.62 will take? Any info would be appreciated just got to the website today and saw the videos and fell in lust.

I will ask my shooting buddy (he works for FNH and is currently doing destructive testing on the sniper version of the 7.62 with some real hot 175 grain loads) this weekend. He is a member of the Files, but rarely checks it or posts.

I was thinking the same thing. I could make a die to form the beak as you call it. Probably have to machine the back latch area. But all this is pointless unless if these mags can be had cheap. So who has these and how much?

OK, straight from the horses mouth:
The SCAR heavy's are modified FAL mags that instead of locking on the rear they lock in a slot on the left side. They also don't have the welded block on the rear like FAL mags. Other than those 2 points, they are constructed the exact same way. Almost like they wanted to use existing tooling for bending and welding of all of the seams. |

IMHO. If you can afford a SCAR you should be able to afford the magazines without having to resort to modifying existing mags.

Roger on the mags figured it had to be something special not just a simple mag. And I agree when I drop the money on a SCAR I cant bitch about the price of mags. So any word on when or where and a basic price? The .223 is going for $2200-$2900, cant even imagine the the big brother will go for.

It's not yet been released. I expect the first ones to do just what the SCAR-16 did..sell for outrageous prices. I bought one of the expensive FN packages to be able to get 3 SCAR-L rifles. I was lucky that there was a buying panic after I did this and I was able to unload all of the (generally hard to sell) other FN products I had to buy. Hopefully they will be able to produce them in quantity and they will be reasonably priced after the initial furor dies down. Im sure there are guys out there that paid $8K for the SCAR-L that wished they had waited as they are 2400 or so now...

Again assuming that the 5.56 uses M-16/4 mags are the ones made by FN any better or worse that others including HK or just more expensive?

Thanks.
Back to the original topic. Anyone have information on the availability of the 17s? (Yes yes, I know, it's a bucket load of money,, nobody needs to tell me that) Thanks again.

The wholesaler I deal with has the SCAR H listed but none in stock.
The price is $145 more than the SCAR lites.
