elk/lizards
Got back from a too brief scuba trip to Cozumel. We had a great time with my brother and his family.
High points of the trip: this iguana, finding a small local dive operation the last day of the trip, seeing a huge eagle ray come 6' out of the water near boat, many drifts dives, small local restaurant explorations Low points: the resultant GI problems once we got back...damn, I know better than to eat Mexican airport food, missed connection at DIA(another wonderful hotel visit in Denver), brother and one niece getting pretty seriously nailed with sea lice(jellyfish larva, actually...sea lice eat dead people). It was a great diversion from winter. I can't seem to get warm yet. I collected a couple restaurant names if anyone would like a recommendation. Here's a cool lizard ... since I can't seem to ballistically communicate with elk anymore, this looks like they'd taste pretty good(chicken?). |

They are called tree chickens in much of Latin America.

After chasing this one in the bush, I suddenly wondered...what is the northern extent of a fer-de-lance?

I have eaten Iguana on more than a few occasions.Goat, dog, cat and iguana
all served in our school lunches in the islands. With enough curry...it all tastes the same...Not to mention the salt fish and eggs for breakfest. Nice pic by the way... |

I don't think there are any venomous snakes on Cozumel, but the fer-de-lance and others are on the adjacent mainland.
