I just got my Christmas treasure in the mail from Finland. This Russian NSPU/1PN34 night vision scope is a 1980’s Afghan War era chunk of good old fashioned Soviet technology. It will make you a night fighter…definitely not a light fighter…

Russian Saiga/Arsenal SGL-21 in plum with an NSPU/1PN34 night vision scope mounted.

I have used the scope at night and everything works great, but I have not fired the rifle with it attached yet. Hopefully I will soon.

This scope has a 3.5x magnification to it. I had my brother walk around in the woods at night while I tracked him with it, no rifle attached. I could clearly see him at 100 yards, no problem. But there is no where here with a further line of sight to test the scope further. I would think 200-300 yards would be fine, probably more.

The is a dealer in Finland who sells these scopes. He lists them on Ebay and Gunbroker. Just do a search for "NSPU".

A. The 80's was back when stuff still worked in practicality, not ideology. It may be old, but it's probably going to outlast the new stuff!

B. That's just awesome! Congratulations!

C. You're using it to kill that FORD! That's the best target you could pick out to sight it in on!
