" A Violence Policy Center project has mined news reports to find that more than 100 people have been killed by holders of handgun-carry permits since 2007, including nine law enforcement officers. The project originally intended to list all gun crimes by permit holders, but there were too many to keep track of, Rand said.

"They shoot each other over parking spaces, at football games and at family events," Rand said. "The idea that you're making any place safer by injecting more guns is just completely contradicted by the facts."

I notice the article has no link to the study itself, who conducted it, who funded the study, and the raw data involved. This puts the burden on the person looking for veracity in the study findings. Sloppy reporting, or just lazy?

Actually, that's kind of funny that they had to scour news reports for the data. We all know how accurate the news can be in thier reporting. LOL

Not to mention that even if it's 100 in almost 3 years, that number of 100 is less than 1/3 of the homicide number for NY city in just one year.

actually most of their studies call a person a kid up to 24 (when the feds stop considering them as such for educational grants)

The studies also count the 19year old private in Iraq that gets shot by a towel head as a victim of gun violence.

The "Violence Policy Center" is a Brady type Anti-gun group based in WA. state. So figure that into the survey results!!!

I'd bet that dentists killed that many over the same period in time. People do have adverse reactions to being put under for minor surgery.
