Walkstool ?????
Came across a nifty stool for camp use. Saw it in the Duluth Trader catalog as a tradesman's work stool and looked it up on the net. These three-leggers look to be the cat's nutz for packing on the BoB or general use around the fire pit.
www.walkstool.com "Comfort" series runs from $75 thru $110 for 18" thru 30" (extended) I also found a few of the *downline*; one report that these are made in China for Walkstool AB. These are in two sizes only and use slimmer feet and smaller, cheaper tops. Cost varies but runs $35 to $39. A few suppliers have comfort series cheaper... $69.95 shippped; but prices seem ta be at MSRP most places. The little model folded up runs 11" long and all but 2 pounds, extends to 18"...just about right for general use at chair height. The cheaper (by far) and slightly lighter $35 unit runs up to 20".close enuff ! ![]() Anyone here have hands-on experience or ever see one? Before I'm ready ta drop that kinda change on a stool; I'd sooner get some feedback TIA, Paul

Its all about where the fabric meets the poles at the top.
If done right they are great. If done wrong they will grab your butt in such a way that you never, ever get to "fit in the pocket". If you get one of those a rock or tree stump is more comfortable. It's one of those things you have to try before you buy unfortunately.

Picked up a cheapie at the Dollar General down here as a workstool for doing punchdown/install work in crowded phone rooms and to replace my "borrowed" milk crate. It's pretty handy, and comfortable. Best part, less than $10.
Try it before you buy it, though. I'm a larger guy, 6'1", 230lbs, and the first one I tried at harbor freight didn't fit me, but was fine for someone smaller, probably. |
