help finding info, cetme handguard on fal
I remember in the not too distant past there was a member that had custom fitted a Cetme hand gurad onto a fal front end. I really want to find that thread, but I have been searching for a few hours this morning and can't seem to find anything. Its probably just weak search-fu but if anyone knows of it please help a brother out.

Click "search entire post", click "any date", click "and older" For a search subject I entered "cetme handguards" and got this; http://www.falfiles.com/forums/searc...der=descending
Dug through that for the thread. HTH

I feel like a complete idiot.
I have been coming to the files for over three years and I never noticed the "and older" vs. "and newer" button on the searches. I just have always assumed the board had limits set on searching for older posts to save bandwidth or something.

What gas piston tube is that? I have an STG-58 and the tube does not run the full length

How hard would it be to install the full length gas tube?

Unless it is only pinned, the hardest part is going to be getting the short tube out of your gas block (soldered?). Then, I am not sure whether the US made DSA gas blocks are threaded or not, or even STG-58 OEM ones.
On a regular metric or Israeli FAL it is a simple matter of removing the nut and piston, then drifting out the pin under the gas adjusting sleeve and unscrewing the tube. |
