New SA Synthetic Furniture.
I understand that Penguin makes a Non-Bipod cut handguard and humpback buttstock. Are they to the same specifications as the South African stuff? I've done a search and it seems that a lot of folks didn't care much for the Penguin stuff, but I couldn't locate anything as far as dimensions. The SA Buttstocks were the longest made if I recall. Are the Penguin buttstocks that long? If not Penguin, is there any other option besides restoration? Thanks all.
(I wish DSA offered this kind of stuff. I don't like the bi-pod cut handguards they offer though. The regular ones feel so much better in your hand IMO) |

The PSAW non bc HGs are okay, but because of a misplaced front screw location, they don't line up perfectly and give a Bent barrel look to the rifle. PSAW stocks are okay, but are standard length. Your only real option is to refinsh some original SAs ( they came in either wood type c or synthetic ). I probably have a spare synthetic long SA stock, they are not uncommon.

I have a Rhodesian Kit with a synthetic R1 buttstock and handguard. I was hoping to not have to refinish them, but it looks like that's the only real option. Thank you for the reply. Anyone offer composite refinishing services?

GPG probably has some SA long stocks. Probably refinish them for you too. Otherwise you can refinish yours with Krylon Fusion. It takes about a week to fully cure. Looks close to original too. It's a lot of work but the end product is very nice when done properly.
