I got this with an L1A1 kit but got a line on and original L1A1 barrel so I am trying to identify what this barrel is. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide me.
For some reason the forum does not like the links for two of the pictures so I have posted a link that will take to you all three to view. thx pat all three pictures. http://cid-d9ed3dab03cb0b72.skydrive...AB03CB0B72!281 |

Not sure it has a chrome bore or not,but the chamber should be chrome lined for sure, also your barrel has the P in a circle proof mark on the barrel flat and it stands for Pretoria south africa http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showt...light=Ident%2A http://www.saaaca.org.za/links/markings.htm

Yep, South African. Unlike the Imbels and Steyr's these were shot a lot and did duty during the Border war. Serial numbers typically in the 200-300,000 range, and bear a 7.62mm L stamp, crossed flags or a P in Oval like yours. Nice bores are hard to find. You might get 2-3 moa if you have one with a nice looking bore. Otherwise expect 4-6 moa.
