Enfield cartouche ???

While cleaning the oil out of my Ishy, I found this cartouch on the butt:

Google-fu says it was a South African mark, Google-fu also says it was Indian. Anybody know for sure?

BTW, the image is one I found on the interwebz. Mine is very faint. I'm wondering about trying to restore it or not. How would I restore it?

Suggestions?

Should I try to save it? How? Can I 're-do' it?

While frequently labeled 'Small Arms India', according to the serious Enfieldites, it actually stands for "Inspectorate of Small Arms" and was used at the Ishapore arsenal from WWII onwards (although possibly before, too).

YMMV, etc, etc.
