Reason for a short gas cylinder?
I have heard others talk of a short gas cylinder on the FAL. It is my understanding that DSA produces some of the rifles like this.
On my StG 58 it has a full length gas cylinder with a couple of vent holes. It appears to be chromium lined and I have never had trouble with it. I have two questions: Were any of the military issued rifles of the short gas cylinder configuration? What is the advantage to having the short gas cylinder? |
