Jugrunner those are LR cartouches .It is a Belgian acceptance mark. You see it on FN 49 s as well. Those stocks are likely late model BGS G1 stocks .That is where my stock like that came from. Thanks EX1

I think the Wood the FINNS used is an ARCTIC BIRCH which has some really neat flame in it.. Then I think in the original finish they used Pine Tar or something like that and that may have added to the color?... The rifle pictured has some pretty wild figure and flame in it, I really like how it looks..

L1A1 wood
Sudden Death, Albeit the few nicks, Did you refinish the wood on Your L1a1, Or just clean it up? Looks really nice the way you have it now. Especially up against that table, I agree with Jeffery.
Cheers, Lee.

Finally got some time and put Blue Monster's work on my FAL. I sent him the NOS tiger-striped handguards and NOS butt and he carved a PG and finished all to match. A true master craftsman as you can see. Not intended to be a true period correct FAL mind you as I am still putting that kit together but just wanted to display the awesome skills of Blue (and the early AFN/OIP as well.)

What was that phrase that Mel brooks said in one of his comedy movies, OH Yeah, It's good to be the king, After he pulled his head out from between that girls clevage.

HeavyDuty asked:
"I have a set of Ironwood seconds from years ago that I'd like to mount on my FrankenFAL IMBEL. Can anyone suggest an easy way to get this killer reddish finish? Extra points for a simple wipe-on commercial product." The best I have used is brand Chestnut Ridge Supply- Dark Walnut Military stock stain (With a hint of red)

L1A2 has this now. The wood was given a once over but the kit was not refinished. On a FAC (coonan) type 1. Long story but Buddie did me right on this one after a misstep on a hand pick back in the day. Came with a Cr new barrel as well. $89 for the kit, $200 for the receiver and another $60 for the compliance parts. Those were the days.

Jerry, the sling on that G1 kinda looks like the mysterious orgin slings that Tapco had back in the day. I got a couple of those, stunk up the house. To add insult, my GSD got in the closet and pissed on them.
Besides, that is one nice looking weapon!

Hello Gobbler Those are Argentine made type C stocks .The profile is the give away. They also made Falo stocks with the same contour. The stocks in your pic will likely have a plastic insert where the recoil tube goes I have only seen this in the Argy type Cs. The Argy ferrule is also slightly different with larger holes. These type stocks are usually seen on the Argy plain muzzle Fals. Thanks EX1
