but that sucker includes a chuck which is one tremendous advantage. Hey I'm not too crazy about the setup but what I hate about my rotary is that I need to make an adapter to mount a chuck. Enco used to have chucks thathad through holes in the body for mounting on the T slots. Anyways thanks for the link.

Two completely different items.
An indexer allows you to index, by degrees, your part so you can machine/drill/ream/whatever at that location. A rotary table lets you machine while rotating the table, allowing you to cut circles, radii, etc. You can't machine on an indexer that way. The indexer locks into place.

It's exactly like a Haas rotary but manual, not CNC controlled.

I worked in semiconductor and aerospace machine shops for the last 26+ years, with the last 12 in a Tool & Die shop.
They offered a severance package last Feb. so I took it. I have a shop at home with manual equipment, and have been doing gunsmithing on the side since '94. I decided to work for myself and ramp my gun business up. I'm tired of working for other people and want to try it on my own. If I don't succeed, I can always go to work for someone again. Also, Obama says he's going to take care of all of us so I'm not worried!
