Need hellp with a Henry Arms lever 22

My dads bought said 22 rifle, doesnt know a thing about guns so i took it out to scope and zero it for his Bday. after a while the lever jammed up, i pushed it forward to eject and it wont go back. no obvious blockage. i am totally new to levers and thought i would ask here in case anyone has an idea what to do.

I haven't got a clue what it could be. I have a Golden Boy that I've put several hundred rounds through. The only problem I've had with it is when shooting off the bench, I forget to raise up to work the lever and don't throw the spent casing out of the receiver. You know, now that I've read your post a little closer I believve that is what your problem is. There is probably a spent shell flipped around backwards on the left side of the bolt. Turn the gun upside down and jiggle the lever a little, don't use too much pressure, you want to just knock the shell loose.
