June 5 is come and gone...
And there is no 500% tax of each and every round of ammo. Imagine that!
Have you guys noticed that the gun shops are not crowded and gunshows have settled down? Maybe this signals the end of the ammo and reloading component shortage. We can only hope!

Well, there is a glimer of hope. I bought 4 pounds of powder at Cabela's yesterday. Actually I bought 2 pounds and took my wife back and she got 2 pounds.

Yesterday I stopped at WalMart and the ammo shelves were almost bare except for the oddball stuff. A stop at my local gun shop, and I felt better - he had piles of ammo, but the prices were still circa Feb 2009. Guess I'll have to wait a little bit until the prices drop to stock up....

I picked up 4 lbs of 748 and 2k of mil primers on Wed. Had to hit 2 different stores, but I did get some!

WM had the good CCI Blazer 45 ACP that I like in stock (emphasis on "had"
 ) and today some Fed 308. 7.62x39 WWB comes in occasionally. 223 is still an iffy proposition, as are bulk 22 LR, 380, 32 ACP, 9mm, and some others. 40 S&W seems to be less popular

Well, I got an email-notification at 12:30 Central today that MidwayUSA had Winchester LP primers in stock - sure 'nuff, there they were - "Available".
Whip out the ol' card, order 5,000 and hit "Submit" - and they were already gone! Bastards! |
