I applied for a cow elk tag.....but they must have sold it to an out of state hunter for more $$$, LOL
I did get a muzzleloader deer tag, however, which I will probably fill on my neighbor's property. I won't buy an OTC elk tag for the unit I hunt....not very good odds on legal bulls. |

We camped at 9,000' & most of the time it was T shirt weather. The elk were over on the high, northern slopes & way too far off for those of us limited to foot travel where they were. I'll bet it's COLD this time...... |

I live west of Durango, at about 7,000 feet, and we have been having an exceedingly wet & cool/cold summer so far. It looks like Ireland it is so green where traditionally it is a lot drier/browner this time of year. Raining almost every day in the mountains above 7,500/8,000 feet. Visitors on the narrow gauge train to Silverton coming back hypothermic. Rained tonight like a duble****ed cow pizzin on a flat rok!! This is the wetest summer I have seen in many years.
Elk/deer/cows/horses getting so fat they may just explode .
