Found some cheap (for the times) .308

Sellier & Bellot. Corrosive and Berdan primed, but for 300 rounds @ .46 it is not that bad. I have been looking at ammo for the last 2 days online and this is about the best non steel cased price I have found.

I have no affiliation with this site, just thought people might like the heads up.

Just bought some

I have 300 of the S&B on the way and some Brown Bear. Will give a range report on both when I get back home in a few weeks.

>308 ammo

Sometimes even a blind pig can find an acorn occasionally...

I just found 1,000 rds. of real Lake City (not reloads) .308, 1998-2000 production for .50 per round.

I was able to get 1,000 air collet pulled M80 ball off gunbroker for 130 shipped.

I was happy just to get some jacketed stuff that didn't look like it was pulled out with a pipe wrench...lol

Just wondering if $599 is a good deal for 1080 rounds of "RG" and "Nato Cross" headstamped ammo? I know where there are 3240 rounds of it.

From what I have seen that is a good price in today's crazed market. Go on gunbroker with a calculator and see what I mean...$0.64/round was what I was finding as an avg. for milsurp. If you don't mind sharing your source I am on the lookout for good deals on 1000 rounds or more.

If you have any Dunhams Sporting goods stores near you, some of them have the S&B 308 for 599 for a case of 1060. I think it is insane and will pass. I am in MI, the Lansing mall store had three cases on Friday

Corrosive ammo is such a pain to clean up after.
It may be more psychological than anything, but I would always be wondering if there is any residue left working its evil way on my illustrious rifle while I was not looking.

Thanks for posting that. I'm not far from Lansing so I will check it out.

For years I have used corrosive ammo with my Enfields, and just made sure to clean them extremely well before putting them up and almost immediately after shooting and I sleep easy. Commonwealth troops used corrosive ammo almost exclusively for decades and it seemed to work alright for them.
