Why LAPUA components are so pricey.

As most of us know, the LAPUA ammo and components are pretty pricey. Just saw a description of some virgin LAPUA brass and if it's this good, perhaps the high price is justified. The description in the Cabela catalog reads,
"Every step from smelting to completion is monitored to meet LAPUA's exacting standards. The result is cases of such high quality they can be reloaded a minimum of 10 times each".

I figure 10 (ten) times MINIMUM is pretty dang good.

Jerry, I see now why you wanted the 7.62X39 LAPUA brass for reloading.

Lapua 7.62x39 was imported here back in 93-94 after the chinese ammo ban, going rate then for me was 21 bucks a 100. still have 420 rds left and its not for sale.

Problem is they didn't fire it in an AK. It will tear up Brass before 10 reloadings.

I used to get that out of Bolt guns with moderate loads with American Brass.

10 reloads out of a semi would be admirable, minimum of 10 reloads out of a bolt is nothing. Most bench rest guys I know reload their brass 20-50 times depending on what caliber etc.

Just checked the wholesale price of LAPUA 7.62X39 boxer primed and NC loaded ammo in the Grafs "WHOLESALE" catalog and it's listed as 30 round box for $21.00.

I remember when Brunos Shooter supply in Phoenix was selling .308 Lapua cases for $32/100 about 7 years ago, and I only bought 300 cases..

I value these too highly to use in a semi-auto, but I have some cases I probably loaded at least 10 times, and they will probably be good for 10 more.

I have about 300 .308 cases stashed away. I was amazed at how consistent the case weights were. Now I just need a .30 bolt gun to run them through. Flawless logic.

In my completely unbiased opinion (), Lapua cases are the finest ones available, even better than Norma and RWS...

Just sayin'...
