38 special, 6 inch barrel, half moon sight, serial number stamped on butt with no prefixes: 221522

I am assuming six shot, swing-out cylinder, double action.

S/N makes is a .38 M&P Model of 1905 Third Change. The series ran from 1909/146900 to 1915/241703.
