Para
If you do cut the recess in the upper could you ever install the regular Fal part on to upper or would it have to stay as a Para ?
Thanks for all the info. Ed |

Anyone have info on how the cut is made on the lower when not using a actual para lower ?
IE converting from a stg lower to a para lower ? The cut I'm talking about is the one in the recoil plate that the rear of the TC sits when its assembled and locked together with the upper.

yes there is a vertical slot in the recoil plate right above the spot where the recoil plunger is located at and continues to the top edge of the recoil plate, you could also just grind the small nub off of your para top cover and then you would not need to do the milled slot in your recoil plate

I just ordered the correct DSA Steel lower to avoid the problems of having to cut this or grind that.
Thanks for the ideas though. Quote:

i need to do 2 para nose cover cuts on my receivers.
did anyone buy the tools to do this? if so do you want to sell them? i will use them on my two and then sell them to the next guy that wants to do theres. i hate to buy these new just to make 2 cuts. thanks ron copied from another post: (It's a 19/32 counterbore with a 9/32 pilot. I just did mine on my drill press following DeanD's advice in this thread . I did it in steps, checking the top cover fit until it would close with the cover flush at the recoil plate. It looks perfect. I got the piloted aircraft counterbore from MSC. Here's the part numbers and links... 08840381 19/32 HS SS 1/8 HOLE 884 1/4 SH.AIRCR CBRE. $24.99 08902181 9/32 BODY 1/8 SHANK PILOT $4.1700 It's about $38 dollars with shipping. You'll probably need the 12" long 1/4" drill extension, too. It's another $2-3 at your local hardware store. Here's a link that shows the extension.) |
