Argentine bbl and DSA receiver - super short locking shoulder
My friend and i just started building two DSA receivers with Argentine barrels. They required a 0.252 and 0.250 locking shoulder respectively..
Is that due to the Argentine barrel or the DSA receiver? any drawbacks with such a 'deep' barrel / breach relationship? |

One Argie barrel I worked on had an extremely long breech. Would a breeching washer bring it closer to a normal size? Ron

1 turn = 1"/16 = .0625" .250 + .0625 = .3125" which would be too large. Hope I'm wrong. I think the newer DSAs are running short. The one I have left to go, looks like its going to need a .253 or .254. Edited cause I can't type for $hit.

All of my DSAs lately have needed .250 to .254 locking shoulders lately. The newer receivers w/new or newer barrels seem to be running short.

The last couple of Denton builds have seen the same thing.

My 3 recent new DSA receivers mated with 2 Imbels were .252, 254, and the STG was .256 locking L/S's. Talking with Gunpartsguy and Gunthings, they have been selling those sizes I mentioned and .250 with high frequency lately.

Don't shorten an Argentine barrel because often with Argentine barrels the the bore is not concentric with the outside of the barrel
See http://www.falfiles.com/forums/showt...ghlight=Arg%2A If you use the regular taller Argentine front sight block it will need the tall Isreali front and rear sights. Last edited by patriot1177; January 29, 2009 at 22:58. |

Data point #1: A recent DSA receiver with a DSA med. contour barrel - 0.262"
Data point #2: A recent DSA receiver of similar vintage (but not the same as the above) with a Imbel barrel - 0.250" I doubt this has any meaning, so take it for what it's worth.
