Eotech Prices
Anyone know who has the best prices on an Eotech? What would a good model for my AR that won't break my bank account?

Hoplite inc says they have the 511 for $299 and the 512 for $339. I don't know how serious they are, though, because they don't even have a website, which is really unusual for a merchant these days.
I would get the 512. It uses AA batteries where the 511 uses N, which are much harder to find, especially after a disaster. You can always find some AAs. There is a more expensive model, but you only need it if you want to couple it with a nightvision scope. The 512 is fine.

Thanks for the help. I don't know much about the optics and was starting to go nuts trying to figure out which one to get. Your point about the batteries is a very good one and something I wasn't thinking about.
